Di Bruno Brothers is one of those Philadelphia places that makes me feel lucky to live in this city. The Rittenhouse location on Chestnut Street is truly gorgeous, with the polish and product selection of a great food hall you might find in London, Paris, or Milan. The cheese, prepared foods, and pantry goods have clearly been chosen by people with incredibly discerning taste. It feels sophisticated and worldly while remaining unmistakably Philadelphia. Part of the pleasure is simply walking around and seeing what they have. Beautiful imported products sit alongside house specialties, fresh food, and everyday things you can grab without turning the visit into a major production. The meat and seafood always look fantastic, although I have mostly admired them rather than bought them so far. Everything is presented with obvious care, and the staff feels genuinely passionate about food. What I especially appreciate is that I never feel pressure or guilt if I pass through and barely buy anything. Our family budget has been tighter lately, so there are plenty of visits where I browse, grab a coffee or something small, and keep moving. The staff is warm and helpful whether you buy one t

I don't know why the upstairs is always empty but people should know about it. Grab some food and drink downstairs and enjoy the air conditioning. Perfect place to work. There are outlets and bathrooms and a cafe downstairs in the market.

Awesome lil grocery store. We got an assortment of cheese to go with crackers, as well as two types of pasta salad. I was blown away by the antipasto salad and the sausage pasta salad. I will definitely be back! The sandwiches looked unreal. Perfect spot to stop at before having a picnic in Rittenhouse Square

I recently visited the store to pick up a bottle of wine and found myself a bit lost. Thankfully, the staff was incredibly helpful! The wine lady was knowledgeable and offered excellent recommendations. She truly made my shopping experience enjoyable. I left with a fantastic bottle and appreciated the warm service. Highly recommend this store for its great selection and friendly staff! Five stars all the wayβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ

Went for lunch yesterday. The pros: I had sushi which they made fresh bc what I wanted they didnt already have made. 10/10. The guys behind the counter was so nice. Everyone was helpful. I didn't have a problem getting around in my wheelchair either. The cons: a bit overpriced. I don't mind paying for quality but I had a strawberry shortcake that was $10 - it was very small and it was horrible. No flavor hardly any strawberries, it was crumbly and just flavorless. I was disappointed and ended up tossing it. Everything else in the case looked dry as well. I also would have liked to experience the restaurant upstairs but they are only open from 5-7pm a couple days per week and I wasn't willing to be in center city that late. So I'm giving stars for the customer service, sushi and the overall ambiance. The bakery wasn't good and the restaurant has very limited hours.
